The One With The Little Paws:

This is Lady. Lady is an 8 year old Jack Russell cross Shih Tzu, and she is the reason for Lady's Little Paws. She is a sensitive soul, but she is the best first dog, and bestfriend, a girl could ask for.

Lady loves to spend time with her bestfriend and sister, Rosie the cockapoo, and her other crazy cat sister, Molly! Lady really enjoys going on long walks, especially if its somewhere with a forest and she can explore lots of new scents!

One of Lady's other favourite things is fluffy blankets, anything fluffy and Lady will pinch it! She loves to be warm and cosy, especially in the winter when she will wake mum and dad up to let her get under the duvet! She's very much a lover of her home comforts. She is such a softy!

Lady is quite particular, and likes to keep to her routine, and when we decided to move into daycare from dog walking, it was clear that we needed to create a space where Lady, and other dogs like her, would feel safe, comfortable and have a great time.

Lady had a lot of medical procedures for an eye condition which resulted in enucleation as a young dog, and this lead Lady to become nervous and anxious in a range of situations, however with the help of mum(Chloe) and all of her doggy daycare friends, her confidence is going from strength to strength and we want our daycare to do the same for other anxious dogs. With Lady's help, we want to help give other pups the confidence to make new friends and try new experiences each time they enter our centre.

Education

2015-2017

Animal Management Level 3 Extended Diploma

Eccles Sixth Form College

I hold a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Behaviour and Management, which provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the daily management of various species. My studies emphasized the importance of using force-free, positive training methods for dog training, enabling me to foster effective communication and build strong relationships between humans and their pets.

2017-2021

BSc(Hons) Behaviour and Welfare Management
University of Chester - Reaseheath Campus

Within my degree, I focused on the study of behaviour management, I had the opportunity to create and implement my own training programmes, allowing me to apply what I learned in practical situations. This hands-on experience greatly enhanced my expertise and prepared me to make a positive impact while running my doggy daycare.

2021 - Present

Continuing Professional Development

To ensure I provide the best care for dogs, I actively engage in continuous research and learning canine behaviour, welfare, and training. This includes staying current with first aid specific to dogs and understanding all relevant animal activity regulations. I also focus on acquiring additional knowledge and skills essential for running a successful doggy daycare, such as effective communication with pet owners and creating a safe and comfortable environment for all dogs in my care.

So what can Lady's Little Paws offer?

Some of the firm favourites include:

Lights Out

We have set times throughout the day for encouraged naptimes. These fall in with the rest of the structured day to ensure the opportunity for overstimulation is kept to a complete minimum. During lights out we will make the centre dark, play some peaceful, calming music and allow the pups to sleep where they choose.

Set naptimes allows the dogs to form a routine in order for them to learn that when the lights go out, and the calming music starts to play, this means its time to wind down, take a breather and then after a little snooze, playtime can resume.

1-1 Sessions

We ensure that each and every dog that enters our daycare for a session receives 1-1 time with a member of staff to allow for bonding between the dogs and the staff, and also to give the dogs some individual downtime away from the group to partake in an activity which they will enjoy. This can be something as simple as a short training session or a cuddle. Your dog leads the way in their sessions.

Scheduled 1-1 time away from the group is extremely beneficial to the pups as it allows the staff a chance to learn more about what each pup enjoys to give them more of their favourite things!
